Orders & Payment
How do I place an order?
Browse our collections, choose your options, and add items to your cart. When you're ready, open your cart and follow the secure checkout steps. You'll receive an email confirmation once your order is placed.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Diners Club, as well as Apple Pay and Shop Pay.
Can I change or cancel my order after it's placed?
We process orders quickly, so please contact us as soon as possible at help@designforpets.co with your order number. If your order hasn't shipped yet, we'll do our best to help; once it has shipped, changes may not be possible.
Why was my payment declined?
Declines are usually caused by incorrect card details, insufficient funds, or your bank flagging the transaction. Double-check your information or try another payment method, and contact your bank if it keeps happening.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship? Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship within the United States only — we don't offer international shipping at this time. Join our newsletter to be the first to know if that changes.
Do you ship to Hawaii and Alaska?
Yes, we ship to Hawaii and Alaska. Please note that orders to these states may be subject to an additional shipping charge, which is calculated at checkout.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the weight and destination of your order. Enjoy free standard shipping on all orders over $75.
When will my order ship?
Orders are typically processed within 3 business days of purchase.
How long does delivery take, and how do I track it?
Standard shipping is estimated at about 5 business days after dispatch. Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with tracking information so you can follow it through the carrier.
Can I change my shipping address after ordering?
Contact us right away at help@designforpets.co. We can usually update your address before the order ships, but not after it's on its way.
What if my package is lost or arrives damaged?
Please contact us immediately. For items damaged in transit or arriving defective, we'll arrange a replacement or refund after assessing the case with the carrier's insurance. Note that the carrier's investigation can take from a few days up to one month.
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?
Please request your return within 5 business days of delivery. Returned items must then be dropped off within 21 days of the original delivery date, and all returns are inspected upon arrival before a refund is approved. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method minus a 10% restocking fee and return shipping cost, as outlined in our return policy.
How do I start a return?
Email help@designforpets.co with your order number and a brief reason for the return, and our team will guide you through the process.
Please request your return within 5 business days of delivery. Once it's approved, send the item back within 21 days.
Who pays for return shipping?
Customers cover return shipping unless the item is damaged, defective, or there was an error on our part. Change-of-mind returns also include a 10% restocking fee, deducted from the refund.
When will I get my refund?
Refunds are processed within 7 business days after your return is inspected and approved, and issued to your original payment method. Shipping and delivery charges are non-refundable.
Can I return used items?
For hygiene reasons, used items cannot be returned — even with slight signs of use — due to the nature of pet products. This helps us keep every item we sell brand new and safe.
Choosing the Right Fit
How do I choose the right size for my pet?
Check the dimensions and any size guidance on the product page, then measure your pet against them. If you're unsure, email us and we'll help you choose the right fit.
Which step height is right for my dog?
It depends on your furniture height and your dog's size and mobility. Our steps come in several heights — see each product page, or reach out and we'll recommend the best option.
My pet seems hesitant to use it — any tips?
Give it time and place it where your pet already likes to rest. Adding a familiar blanket, or a small treat on each step, can help them build confidence.
Are your beds and houses suitable for both cats and dogs?
Many of our pieces work beautifully for both cats and dogs. Each product page notes the best-suited pets and sizes.
